safran group s Sagem division, which specialises in manufacturing flight-control assemblies, has assisted with producing the lightweight actuator as part of a project known as e-Wing.
the e-wing contains the aileron actuator powered by a electrical motor rather than the conventional hydraulics in aircraft.
the test has been done sucessfully on an airbus a320.
this concept can reduce the weight of hydraulics for operating control surfaces can provide better operating economy .
this new tech will be unveiled in coming 2014/15 in aircrafts!
